We are currently seeking a skilled Chef/Cook to join our dynamic team at Mr Collins of Leura, located at Leura, NSW 2780. The ideal candidate will have experience in the culinary industry and possess a passion for delivering delicious and high-quality dishes. This role involves a range of responsibilities centred around food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
Key Responsibilities:
· Preparing and cooking food
· Planning menus, estimating food and labour costs, and ordering food supplies
· Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
· Discussing food preparation issues with Managers, Dietitians and kitchen and waiting staff
· Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures
· Explaining and enforcing hygiene regulations
· Select and train staff
· Freeze and preserve foods
Qualifications and Skills:
A minimum of three years of culinary experience.
Thorough understanding of health and safety standards in the kitchen, including food handling and sanitation practices.
Proficient in culinary techniques and adept in operating kitchen equipment and tools.
Meticulous in food preparation and presentation, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality dishes.
Capable of interpreting recipes and menu plans accurately and creatively.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented kitchen environment.
Good physical stamina, capable of working in a fast-paced kitchen and standing for long hours.
