Data Security Consultant
Location: Canberra or Melbourne
Your role
The Data Security Consultant will support the delivery of client‐facing data security services across enterprise, government, critical infrastructure and regulated environments. The role contributes to the development of reusable delivery artefacts, including reference architectures, assessment templates, secure design patterns, operational procedures and proposal content. As a consultant, you will be accountable for leading or supporting technical engagements, assuring deliverable quality, mentoring junior staff and representing the Data Security practice in client discussions.
* Design and support Thales Luna HSM, CipherTrust Manager, Keyfactor, and enterprise PKI architectures and operations
* Manage key lifecycle, certificate issuance, renewal, revocation, and related operational procedures
* Integrate cryptographic services with cloud, identity, applications, and network environments
* Conduct security and cryptographic assessments; develop remediation and uplift plans
* Plan and support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery for cryptographic and security platforms
* Produce technical documentation, reference architectures, and secure design guidance
* Contribute to bids, proposals, and Data Security service development
* Mentor junior staff and build team capabilities across cryptographic and PKI technologies
Your Experience
* Experience with Thales Luna HSM, CipherTrust Manager, and Keyfactor for design, integration, and support
* Strong knowledge of enterprise PKI, CA services, certificate lifecycle, and cryptographic key management
* Skilled in integrating PKI and cryptographic services with applications, cloud, and identity platforms
* Proficient in security assessments, backup, recovery, high availability, and disaster recovery planning
* Familiar with aligning controls to standards like NIST CSF, ISO 27001, and Australian ISM
* Excellent technical writing and documentation skills
A Defence security clearance is required for this role; applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an appropriate clearance. Additional information with regards to clearances is available from the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency website http://www.defence.gov.au/AGSVA/. In some cases, individuals who hold a current clearance from a foreign government may be eligible to have this clearance recognised by the Australian Government and be eligible for this role. The Australian Defence Trade Controls Act (DTCA) is applicable and as such, your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.
