Position Information
Penrith Selective High School is an academically selective high school located on Darug land. We have a coeducational enrolment of approximately 936 students, including 92.6% of students from a non–English speaking background. The school has a strong commitment to differentiated teaching and learning to meet the needs of highly gifted learners in addition to supporting students and their wellbeing across all domains of giftedness. Our highly skilled and dedicated teachers focus on quality teaching and learning with an emphasis and understanding of strategies that meet the needs of gifted and talented students, including those who are twice exceptional (2e). Specific Selection Criteria
* Approval to teach secondary library or currently undertaking/enrolled in Teacher Librarian qualifications approved by the NSW Department of Education, with skills in Information Communication Technology.
* Knowledge of and experience in the operating systems of a school library including the ability and/or willingness to oversee Distance Education.
* Capacity to coordinate library initiatives promoting literacy and critical thinking across subjects in a selective high school setting, combined with the interpersonal skills to build relationships and foster a positive learning environment.
* Ability to collaborate with key staff to manage financial resources and maintain the currency of educational resources.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
