We are seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to join us at Aboriginal Hostels Limited (AHL) as the Assistant Director, Workforce Planning and Analytics. AHL is expanding our business model with the aim of developing into an emerging leader for best practice Human Resources.

The key duties of the position include:
We are looking for someone with a proven track record in workforce analytics, data management, workforce planning and leadership. You are a strategic thinker with exceptional problem-solving skills, outstanding communication and stakeholder management abilities with an understanding of legislative requirements, industry trends, and best practices in workforce planning and analytics.
Key Responsibilities of the role:
* Lead the workforce planning and analytics function, driving continuous improvement, high-quality data governance, ensuring compliance with privacy and legislative standards.
* Design, implement and manage workforce planning tools, reporting frameworks and the AHL Workforce Plan to support strategic and operational decision-making across the organisation.
* Provide workforce insights, data analysis and advice to inform executive, Board, ministerial and parliamentary matters, while managing complex data requests.
* Engage and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including participation in strategic committees and Commonwealth forums, to strengthen workforce capability and adopt best practices.
* Lead key initiatives such as the APS Census and AHL census action plan, while mentoring staff, fostering a high-performing team culture, and implementing solutions to address workforce data issues.
Key Capabilities of the role:
* Demonstrated expertise in workforce planning and analytics, including the ability to generate meaningful insights through data analysis and reporting.
* Strong understanding of compliance, governance frameworks and workforce data management within HRMIS environments, including establishment functions.
* Proven leadership capability to manage and develop a specialised team, delivering outcomes under tight deadlines and in complex environments.
* Highly developed stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence outcomes and build effective relationships across diverse internal and external groups.
* Excellent communication and judgement, with the ability to translate complex workforce data into clear, actionable advice tailored to senior stakeholders and diverse audiences, including First Nations and culturally diverse stakeholders
Eligibility
* Be an Australian Citizen.
* Undergo a Satisfactory National Criminal History Check (prior to engagement).
* Meet Fitness for Duty requirements (prior to engagement).
Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
* At least 3 years of Human Resources (HR) experience working in or specialising in Workforce Planning and Workforce Analytics or similar field.
Desirable:
* Qualifications in Human Resources, or a related field.
* Experience in workforce planning and workforce reporting within the APS or a comparable organisation.
