Position Summary

The Welcome Home Support Coordinator at Rosny Park delivers the Welcome Home Program, an early intervention and community development initiative supporting social and affordable housing tenants across Hobart. This on‐site role focuses on providing voluntary wrap‐around, person‐centred support to tenants during the pre‐ and early stages of tenancy, through practical assistance, service linkages and a trauma‐informed, relational approach.

Key Responsibilities

* Build strong, trust‐based relationships with prospective and new tenants, providing respectful, person‐led support that helps people feel confident and settled in their new tenancy.
* Work alongside tenants to understand what matters to them, providing time‐limited, holistic support shaped by their strengths, goals and choices, in close collaboration with the Welcome Home Housing Coordinator and other enabling roles.
* Support tenants to settle confidently into their new home, offering practical guidance and assistance early on so challenges can be worked through together if they arise.
* Support connections to community, health, and support services through warm referrals and local service partnerships.
* Provide practical capacity‐building support that builds confidence with household routines, property care and day‐to‐day living, tailored to the tenants' goals and needs.
* Work collaboratively with Welcome Home and housing colleagues, including helping tenants prepare for inspections and understand their responsibilities in a clear, supportive way when needed.
* Maintain clear and respectful records and documentation, while actively contributing insights, reflections and learning to support continuous improvement of this new and evolving program.

Requirements for Success

* Relevant qualifications (degree, associate diploma, or equivalent industry experience), with flexibility for strong candidates from community services or related backgrounds with substantial experience.
* A strong support‐focused and trauma‐informed approach when working with individuals and families experiencing vulnerability.
* Minimum 1 year experience in community services, housing, or a related support role.
* Demonstrated ability to build rapport, work collaboratively, and support tenants to identify goals and individual support needs.
* Experience working with vulnerable communities, including an understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures.
* Confidence working within a multidisciplinary environment and partnering effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
* Proficiency in case note taking, systems use and maintaining accurate and compliant records.
* Full Driver Licence with no restrictions.
* Completion of a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and clearance to work with children / vulnerable people before commencing employment.

Benefits

* Rewarding work – every day you know you're making a real difference.
* Not‐for‐profit salary packaging, reducing your tax.
* Free external, confidential counselling and access.
* Volunteering opportunities.
* Opportunity to purchase additional annual leave.
* Extra leave including Mission Australia Thank You Day & Work Anniversary Day off.
