About the Role
Join our Arts team and play a meaningful role in nurturing and educating students from Years 7 to 12. This is a full-time, fixed-term maternity leave cover position commencing in Term 2, Week 5, 2026 and concluding at the end of Term 2, 2027. In this role, you will integrate best practice teaching and learning with the science of wellbeing, and in doing so, safeguard the most important ingredient to a boy's success: confidence.
Reporting to the Head of the Arts, you will be part of a highly experienced, collegial team united by a shared commitment to creating the best possible learning environment. As a member of the Arts Faculty, you will:
* Plan, prepare, and deliver quality and effective teaching and learning experiences for Years 7–12 Drama that align with ACARA and QCAA syllabi, the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers, and the College's Strategic Framework and Pedagogical Framework
* Manage subject‐specific resources, in conjunction with Arts staff, including accountability of resources, maintenance, communicating damages, organising repairs, and warranties for Drama equipment.
* Work in a collaborative environment, sharing and developing teaching practice and resources with a departmental team under the guidance of the Head of Department. This includes active participation in departmental and other staff meetings
* Communicate learning with students and families through College processes, including term updates and the College's learning management system, in a timely and clear way
* Proactively inform parents of their child's progress through informal and formal reporting processes.
* Support students through interaction with them in a variety of settings and through the active development of supportive learning environments and effective behaviour management practices.

Eligibility and Mandatory Requirements
* Eligibility to work in Australia with relevant teaching qualifications and current registration, or eligibility for registration, with the Queensland College of Teachers.
* Qualifications suitable for teaching Middle and Secondary school Drama.
* Adhere to the PMSA Code of Conduct.
* Comply with College policies, procedures and training requirements, including those related to occupational health and safety, risk management, child protection, and confidentiality.
