Bowls Coordinator

Position Purpose
The Bowls Coordinator is responsible for the effective management, administration, and promotion of all bowls-related activities within the club. This may include social events (such as barefoot bowls), club competitions, representative and inter-district events, and community engagement. The role ensures compliance with relevant regulations, supports coaching and player development, liaises with staff and volunteers to provide a welcoming and professional bowls environment.
Community Engagement
• Promote barefoot bowls and other social bowls activities to attract new participants.
• Engage with schools, community groups, and other organisations to encourage participation.
• Support coaching initiatives and provide assistance to accredited coaches.
Club Coordination
• Work with bar staff to provide attendance forecasts and event information to assist with staffing and service planning.
• Collaborate with volunteers and club members to deliver successful events and competitions.
• Provide reports and updates to the Board or Club Manager as required.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work flexibly, including evenings and weekends.
• Minimum 25 hours per week availability required to meet the demands of this flexible role.
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, online registrations, email, social media).
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office suite required for administrative tasks and reporting.
• Good social skills and ability to engage with a wide range of people.
• Knowledge and understanding of the sport of bowls.
• Minimum 1-2 years involvement in bowls (playing or administration) required.
Desirable Skills & Attributes
• Experience in sports administration or club management.
• Ability to work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and stakeholders.
• Knowledge of compliance requirements in sporting organisations.
• First Aid certificate desirable.
• Driver's licence desirable.
Qualifications & Requirements
• Current Blue Card (Working with Children) or ability to obtain.
• Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate, or willingness to obtain.
