Mars Recruitment is partnering with a well-established, ASX-listed organisation to recruit an Assistant Accountant for their Perth-based finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated accounting professional looking to broaden their exposure within a dynamic environment.
The Role
Reporting into a Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting month-end reporting, compliance requirements and continuous process improvements. This position offers hands‐on exposure across a wide range of accounting functions in a collaborative team setting.
Key Responsibilities
* Preparation and posting of month‐end journals (accruals, prepayments, depreciation, provisions, intercompany)
* Balance sheet reconciliations
* Assistance with fixed asset register management
* Support preparation of monthly financial reports
* Assist with cash flow reporting and periodic compliance reporting
* Support half‐year and annual audit processes
* Assist with tax compliance including FBT and income tax support
* Contribute to budgeting processes
* Provide support to transactional finance functions
* Assist with ad hoc finance projects and process improvements
About You
* CA/CPA qualified or working towards qualification
* Experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar role
* Strong Excel skills and systems capability
* High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
* Ability to work autonomously while contributing to a team
* Proactive mindset with a willingness to improve processes
