NQ Pub Management PTY LTD T/as Laffos Bar & Pizzeria, an icon of hospitality in North-Queensland is looking for an experienced cook to join our vibrant team.

Location: Matsuura Dr, Mackay QLD 4740

Refer to Mark Laffin – Director

Position offered: Cook.

Work hours: Full-time 38 hours per week

Salary offered: $76 515.00 per year plus superannuation, according to skills and experience

We here at Laffos Bar and Pizzeria are a local family owned and established business in the heart of Mackay, located at Caneland Central on Matsurra Drive.

We belive our Cooks are the heart of the restaurant operations and you will be preparing fresh and delicious food, problem solving and weighing-in with expertise on vibrant local flavors. You’ll have the opportunity to utilize fresh ingredients to produce high standard products for our new and regular guests.

The successful candidate will be responsible to perform the following duties:

1. Set up and restock workstations.

2. Prepare and cook food for service in cooperation with co-workers.

3. Cooking to the exact specification of Head Chef.

4. Ensuring the kitchen, counters, sinks, utensils, coolers, shelving, and storage areas are clean and comply with established sanitation standards, personal hygiene, and health standards at all times. Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas for cleanliness and functionality.

5. Make recommendations for maintenance, repair and upkeep of the kitchen and its equipment to supervisor.

6. Keeping abreast of orders, inventory, availability, and events.

7. Assisting with presentation of all dishes

8. Assisting with execution of daily menu, caterings, and special event menus

9. Ensuring uniform serving sizes and quality of meals

10. Ensuring food comes out in a timely manner.

11. Complying with health, sanitation, and safety regulations, policies, and procedures, keeping abreast of policies and procedures and current developments in local, state, and federal laws applicable to food service, safe food handling, health standards etc.

What you will need to succeed:

You’ll have the opportunity to utilize fresh ingredients to produce high standard products for our new and regular guests. The perfect candidate will have a minimum of

• 1 years of work experience in commercial cooking

• A certificate 4 in commercial cookery

• Great teamwork attitude

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to follow directions.
