Technical Service Specialist
About the Role:
The Technical Service Specialist is responsible for delivering on-site technical support, installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair services to our clients. The primary goal is to ensure customer satisfaction through effective communication and service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
* Hands-on experience with high voltage equipment, such as Air Insulated Switchgear (Live tank & Dead Tank Circuit Breakers), Gas Insulated Switchgear, and Power Transformers.
* Installation and commissioning experience of AIS, GIS, and Power Transformers.
* Practical experience in electrical testing of high voltage equipment (Circuit Breakers, CTs, PTs, Transformers, etc.).
* Experience in SF6 Gas Handling.
* Ability to read electrical schematics and drawings.
* Ability to attend customer sites on short notice.
* Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues with equipment and systems, perform repairs and maintenance, and provide on-site support and guidance to clients.
* Execute routine preventive maintenance, identify potential issues to prevent breakdowns, and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and service reports.
* Communicate effectively with clients to understand their technical needs, provide timely updates, and ensure high customer satisfaction through professional service.
Requirements:
* High school diploma, GED, Engineering, or technical vocational diploma, with prior field service or equivalent experience preferred.
* Australian Electrical License is mandatory.
* Ideally 5-10 years of related OEM, industrial, commercial, or utility experience.
* Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
* Ability to work in a team environment supporting peers in complex situations.
* Experience in troubleshooting and repairing power and distribution electrical equipment.
* Maintain safe operating conditions of tools and equipment, including conducting detailed inventories and inspections.
* Perform duties in accordance with company policies, customer, industry, and legal standards.
* Strong technical knowledge, troubleshooting skills, and excellent problem-solving abilities.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Flexibility and willingness to work overtime as needed.
* Availability to travel up to 70% per year for extended periods.
