Medical Secretary

We are looking for an experienced Medical Secretary to work as part of our friendly and versatile Paediatric secretarial team at the Royal Alex Children's Hospital, Brighton.
You must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to communicate with NHS colleagues, patients and relatives by email, telephone and face to face.
You must be able to prioritise your workload, be good at time management and meet deadlines.
You must be adaptable and embrace change.
You must have at least 2 years' experience in a secretarial/administrative role.
Knowledge of working in a hospital environment or similar is desirable but not essential.
We are happy to consider a job share if appropriate and suitable candidates are available.
Main duties of the job
The role involves supporting the paediatric team with administrative tasks, managing appointments, handling correspondence, and providing excellent customer service to patients and families.

* Experience of a secretarial/administrative role
* Prioritisation of workload, time management and meeting deadlines
* Excellent interpersonal skills and communication with NHS colleagues, patients, and relatives
* Experience in audio typing
* IT literacy (Word, Excel, email)
* Knowledge of working in a hospital environment or similar (desirable but not essential)
* Medical terminology (desirable)
* Experience working in the NHS (desirable)
