We are seeking a motivated, and forward-thinking, technically strong Mechanical Engineer to join our growing team in Coomera Queensland. The Role
The successful candidate will provide engineering expertise supporting and delivering a range of power generation and engineering projects across Australia and overseas, including gas and steam turbines, boilers, structure, piping and process systems. This role offers exposure to diverse clients and project types, with opportunities for growth and professional development.
As a mechanical engineer, you will support the design, assessment, and delivery of mechanical systems associated with power generation facilities. You will work closely with electrical, and control engineers to deliver integrated project outcomes from concept through commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, prepare, review and deliver mechanical engineering designs, systems and documentation supporting power generation assets (thermal, renewable and hybrid plants).
Develop mechanical layout systems, specifications, and calculations.
Support balance of plant design including cooling, fuel, exhaust, lubrication and auxiliary systems.
Perform hydraulic calculations, stress analysis, select materials, create 3D layouts, ensure compliance and be an expert in producing documentation such as isometrics and piping specifications.
Work with Clients, utilities and stakeholders to progress approvals and meet project milestones.
Ensure compliance with relevant standards, codes and regulatory requirements in Queensland and other jurisdictions.
Provide technical direction to support project managers and multidisciplinary teams with technical advice and engineering risk management.
Skills and Experience – Essential
Bachelor Degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering
Experience in power generation and process systems.
High level technical writing and communication skills.
Skills and Experience - Highly Desirable
Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ).
Proficiency in power system analysis tools and software capability in protection modelling of power system analysis (e.g.: ETAP, Scada, PSS, PSCAD),
AutoCad, Pipe Flow Pro, inventor and other mechanical modelling tools.
