Purpose / Objective
The Asylum Seekers Centre's Communications team is seeking a volunteer to support our communication programs, messages, and materials. This position is best suited for those who have visual storytelling skills and professional experience in graphic design who wish to offer their skills and / or services in-kind to help the ASC.
Reports to : Communication and Digital Marketing Specialist
Commitment Period : Minimum 3 months
Days and hours required per week : Flexible (2-5 hours per week) - Remote volunteering position
Duties & Responsibilities
Create compelling visual assets for social media, website updates, and presentation templates that align with our brand style and resonate with our supporters.
Repurpose written content into visual content such as infographics.
Contribute to our content strategy by coming up with ideas for content, creating visuals to support it.
Regular progress check-in with Communications team (flexible timing)
Selection Criteria
Advanced graphic design skills (Showcasing your skills through a portfolio or reel is essential).
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Canva (desirable)
Experience in working with people from various backgrounds and cultures
Ability to work collaboratively with other staff and volunteers
Flexibility and willingness to take on extra tasks as appropriate
Ability to adhere to policies in relation to code of conduct, boundaries and confidentiality

Support a child safe organisation by undertaking screening for suitability to work with children and vulnerable people and to comply with relevant state / territory legislative requirements
