Overview
We are seeking a motivated individual to join our Workplace Relations and Employment team in Melbourne. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity to start a career in legal administration. The ideal candidate will have around 12 months of administrative experience and a genuine interest in the legal field. Strong communication skills, teamwork, and a proactive attitude are essential.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
1. Create and maintain files, managing a large volume of documents, including opening files and preparing documentation.
2. Prepare documents, transcribe digital dictation, and handle correspondence, court documents, and legal advice using templates and precedents.
3. Manage emails and calendars efficiently.
4. Support clients by answering queries and managing expectations.
5. File court documents using court platforms.
6. Assist with precedents and template management.
7. Support team members with overflow work.
8. Enter timesheets and prepare detailed bills in accordance with firm protocols.
Skills and Knowledge
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to build positive relationships with colleagues and clients.
* Attention to detail and accuracy in routine tasks.
* Willingness to learn and accept guidance.
* Initiative in asking questions and assisting the team.
* Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, and internet skills.
* Knowledge of iManage or similar systems is preferred but not essential.
