About the Role
Join our team as an Occupational Therapist, Grade 2, on a full time ongoing basis (Monday to Friday), working in The Youth Acute Inpatient Unit (Unit 2), based within Dandenong Hospital Youth Mental Health Service.
We are looking for an experienced Grade 2 OT ready to grow into a Grade 3 leadership pathway. This is a full time, ongoing position (Monday to Friday) and you will be supported to develop advanced skills, take on clinical leadership opportunities, and contribute to program development.
In this role, you will:
1. Maintain an active caseload and deliver therapeutic occupational therapy interventions
2. Conduct comprehensive functional and mental health assessments
3. Support patient-centred care planning and recovery-oriented discharge pathways
4. Collaborate closely with families, carers, and community supports, including NDIS and AOD services
5. Provide secondary consultation and clinical input within a highly skilled multidisciplinary team
6. Develop your leadership and professional expertise, with mentorship toward future Grade 3 responsibilities
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced OT who is passionate about youth mental health and eager to expand their clinical and leadership skills in a supportive, multidisciplinary environment.
Whilst the position is based at Dandenong Unit 2, travel may be required to other Monash Health sites.
About Us
Unit 2 is a 25 bed inpatient unit for young people aged 16 to 25 years, and provides services to the Southern Metropolitan Mental Health Services. It is located in the Mental Health Building at Dandenong Hospital. It is a safe and supportive place for young people to work through their mental health, emotional, psychological, relational, and spiritual wellbeing. Their physical needs are also met with the support of clinical, medical and nursing staff. Families and carers are also supported during a young person's admission to Unit 2 with a range of services.

Mandatory requirements of the role:
10. Bachelor of Occupational Therapist of Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy) or equivalent
11. Current general registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) – Occupational Therapy, with no restrictions (cannot have a non-practising registration)
