Senior Power Systems Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Power Systems Engineer to join our Energy Group. GHD has rich expertise in delivering projects through EPCM, EPC, Owner's Engineer and other delivery models across Western Australia and elsewhere. Our local team's strong pedigree in end‑to‑end power system design includes generation, transmission, distribution, renewables, battery energy storage and hydrogen technology.
Responsibilities
* Provide support to power projects being delivered across Australia.
* Develop power system models for the connection of generators, loads, and BESS and configure them to align with local and national regulations.
* Generate models, studies and reports for network services providers, the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO), developers and industrial clients.
* Support project managers and bid coordinators to prepare successful proposals for winning new work.
Qualifications
* Qualifications in Electrical Engineering, with a specialisation in power system analysis.
* Knowledge of energy systems, including generation, transmission and distribution.
* Working knowledge of Electricity System and Market (ESM) Rules and Technical Rules.
* Experience in power system analysis in generation, transmission and distribution systems.
* Experience with power systems modelling and analysis tools, such as DIgSILENT PowerFactory. Proficiency with ETAP, PSCAD and Python is advantageous.
* Knowledge and experience with planning and connection studies, including load flow and fault analysis.
* Knowledge and experience in stability analysis, dynamic studies, and generator performance standards assessment.
* In this client‑facing role, solid communication, report‑writing skills and comfort attending project and partner meetings are required.
