Overview

Australian Citizens with ability to obtain NV1 Clearance residing in Australia only respond.

- Contract start 07 August 2023 to 12 months, 12 months extensions.
- Australian Citizen, Ability to obtain NV1 Clearance, Canberra, Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne role.

Role context

The EL1 Cyber Security Risk is accountable under broad direction to undertake very complex work that delivers quality outcomes across the diverse technology functions of the NDIA.

The position is an important position within the NDIA and will have delegated authority and responsibility to resolve issues and risks across wide-ranging activities of substantial depth involving significant detail.

The role will provide leadership, control, planning, resource management, performance management and decision making and is responsible for actively managing key internal and external stakeholder relationships.

Duties

- Leading and conducting risk assessments of NDIA internal systems and assessing risk from external connections.
- Undertaking compliance activities in relation to cyber security standards within the Agency and to Digital Partners.
- Developing and participating in the implementation of NDIA initiatives focused on the reduction of technology risk, governance and compliance to policies and regulatory compliance.
- Developing IT security standards, policy, procedures, and controls for managing risks.
- Supporting the business by ensuring external stakeholders adequately address all relevant compliance standards such as the PSPF, ISM, Agency Risk Management Frameworks and incident management disciplines.
- Completing and investigating internal and external information security risk and exceptions assessments and documenting and reporting control failures and gaps to stakeholders.

Selection criteria

Every application requires to address selection criteria as part of application submission.

1. 1. Experience with Australian Government governance concepts with a focus on ICT, policy/standards development, documentation of frameworks, and assisting in the reporting to Senior Executive.
2. 2. Strong oral and written communication skills.
3. 3. Ability to mentor and provide expertise within a team workplace and engage with internal/external stakeholders confidently.
