We are seeking applications for the position of Registrar, Medical Administration.
This position is part of a Registrar in Medical Administration training program in association with the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators (RACMA). It involves rotational training across Hospitals South and the Office of the Chief Medical Officer to prepare candidates for the RACMA Fellowship examination.
The Medical Administration Registrar will assist the Executive Director of Medical Services (EDMS) in managing, coordinating, administering, and evaluating medical services and clinical governance within the Tasmania region.

Salary: $134,930 - $189,005 per annum (Medical Practitioners Agreement 2022)
Classification: Medical Practitioner Level 5-11 (Registrar/Senior Registrar)
Award: Medical Practitioners (Tasmanian State Service) Award
Period of Employment: Fixed term, full-time, 76 hours per fortnight plus 10 hours protected training (pro rata), from 2 February 2026 to 1 February 2027 (24 months, negotiable). This process may fill similar vacancies for 12 months after publication.
Location: Royal Hobart Hospital and/or Department of Health offices, Hobart
Duties: Managing assigned responsibilities as a member of the EDMS team at the designated site, providing after-hours emergency cover as determined by the work unit and seniority.
Essential Requirements:
* General or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
Registration/licences must remain current and valid throughout employment. The employee is responsible for maintaining registration and notifying the employer of any changes, including criminal convictions or licence conditions.
The person must satisfy pre-employment checks, including conviction checks (violence, sex offences, drug offences, dishonesty), identification, and disciplinary action history.
Desirable Requirements:
* Accredited RACMA trainee or suitable for RACMA Fellowship appointment.
* At least three years of postgraduate clinical experience.
