We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Special Counsel / Associate Director to join our Banking & Finance team. Position Overview
As a Special Counsel / Associate Director in our Banking & Finance team, you will play a key role in handling complex transactions, advising clients on regulatory matters, supervising and mentoring lawyers and contributing to the overall success of our practice.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and manage complex banking and finance transactions, including loan agreements, financing arrangements and regulatory compliance matters
• Provide expert legal advice to clients on banking and finance regulations, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and industry standards
• Draft, review and negotiate legal documents related to financial transactions. Conduct due diligence to assess legal risks and ensure accuracy in documentation
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their business needs, and providing tailored legal solutions
• Collaborate with directors, associates and other legal professionals to contribute to the success of the Banking & Finance practice
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior lawyers and graduates, fostering their professional growth and development
Qualifications and Attributes
To excel in this role, the ideal candidate will possess the following:
• Minimum of 6 years' experience in Banking & Finance Law, with expertise in PEXA transactional work
• Proven track record in handling complex financial transactions, providing regulatory advice and ensuring attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a client focused mindset committed to delivering high quality legal services
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
