The Opportunity
NQSF is seeking a motivated and aspiring Sports Administrator to join our team in a full-time, fixed-term role through to 31 December 2026. This is an early-career pathway position designed for someone with a strong passion for sport and an ambition to build a career in sports administration.
The role provides hands-on experience supporting major regional programs, with a particular focus on the North Queensland Games and the North Queensland Sports Hall of Fame. You will act as a key contact point for sporting clubs and competition administrators across North Queensland.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as a primary contact for sporting clubs and competition administrators
* Support planning, coordination and delivery of the North Queensland Games and Hall of Fame initiatives
* Assist with registrations, schedules, competition documentation and event logistics
* Provide administrative support to the CEO
* Maintain accurate records, databases and registers
* Draft reports, summaries and updates for review
* Use systems including PlayHQ,, Vision6, Excel, Outlook and WordPress
* Provide on-the-ground support at events (limited evenings/weekends, once or twice per year)
About You
This role is ideal for a graduate, prospective student or early-career professional with clear aspirations to work in sport. You will have demonstrated excellence or strong involvement in sport, such as experience as an athlete, coach, volunteer, official, student, media contributor or engaged participant.
You are confident communicating about sport and competition management, organised, proactive and eager to learn. A sports-specific background is essential, with a wide knowledge of sport preferred

* Sports Management / Business Degree
* Certificate III in Fitness
* Relevant Coaching Accreditation
* Certificate IV in Fitness
* Diploma of Fitness
* Qualified Group Fitness Instructor
* Sports Trainer Accreditation
* National Police / Criminal History Check
