The Rackley Swimming Squad program at the Kawana Aquatic Centre currently has over 180 swimmers. We are looking for a Coach to help our program grow, coaching our Junior and Bronze swimmers and assisting with the National Age and Performance Squads.
Rackley Swimming is very proud of the world-class coaching team employed across the CVM centres in South East Queensland. This position offers the candidate an opportunity to join one of Rackley's fastest-growing squad programs in an organisation committed to supporting coaches, developing the sport, and actively supporting performance and participation pathways.
About The Role
The role is Full-time, based at the Kawana Aquatic Centre, and reporting directly to the Head Coach.
Key Responsibilities
* Program Implementation: Assist the Head Coach in planning, implementing, and evaluating training programs that address swimmer’s physiological and psychological needs across various skill levels.
* Swimmer Development: Foster a positive and supportive training environment, encourage swimmer’s progress, and facilitate a smooth transition between the Learn-to-Swim and Squad programs.
* Teamwork and Collaboration: Collaborate with the Head Coach and other coaching staff to ensure consistency and high-quality coaching across all programs.
* Community Engagement: Promote club participation and encourage swimmers to participate in club activities and local, state, and national competitions. Attending these to support swimmer’s development.
* Communication: Maintain positive relationships with swimmers, parents, and the wider community.
* Aquatics Coaching Professional Development: Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development and a proactive approach to seeking opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in aquatics
* Meet Attendance: Attend targeted swim meets designated by the Head Coach.
About You
We are looking for a highly motivated individual who can build and balance the multifaceted nature of the role. Key traits and experience we are seeking include:
* Prior coaching experience
* Experience with developing a community program and athlete development pathways.
* Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with swimmers and stakeholders and take them on their journey to develop swimmers to their full potential.
* Strong team, communication and collaboration skills, willingness to work with the site team engage and work closely with swim teachers
Qualifications Required:
* Coaching accreditation – Swimming Australia Development Coach or higher
* Current Blue Card
* Current Lifeguard Qualifications
* First Aid & CPR
* Willing to undergo a National Police Check
