About the Opportunity
Liverpool Hospital is actively seeking Occupational Therapists to support its weekend services throughout the hospital.
The ideal candidate should possess advanced clinical skills and a substantial background in delivering occupational therapy interventions across a spectrum of medical-surgical conditions in acute care settings.
This role demands the provision ofperson-centered clinical care to clients and their families, showcasing extensive clinical expertise based on evidence-based practices. Collaborating seamlessly with the multidisciplinary team, the Occupational Therapists at Liverpool Hospital are instrumental in ensuring holistic and effective care delivery.
The selected candidates will be tasked with providing clinical supervision to Level 1/2 occupational therapists, allied health assistants, and students, adhering closely to supervision policies.
Embracing a proactive approach, they are expected to engage in a comprehensive 7-day roster inclusive of weekends and out-of-hours services, exemplifying their commitment to fulfilling departmental duties and ensuring uninterrupted patient care at Liverpool Hospital.
Where You'll Be Working
Liverpool Hospital, founded in 1813, is the major health service for south-western Sydney, providing services to the local government area of Liverpool City Council as well as district services to residents and visitors in the area. It also provides a range of state-wide services in areas such as critical care and trauma, neonatal intensive care and brain injury rehabilitation.
The Hospital provides a health service of international standing, with 23 operating theatres, capacity for 877 beds, diagnostic and imaging services, emergency and trauma care, maternity, paediatric, cancer care, mental health, ambulatory care, allied health and medical and surgical services from birth to aged care.
Liverpool Hospital is currently undergoing a major redevelopment. The $790 million Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct (LHAP) project will provide enhanced facilities and an increased capacity to meet future significant population growth for South Western Sydney.
Liverpool Hospital is a principal referral and teaching Hospital of the University of NSW and the Western Sydney University and also welcome students from over 20 universities and colleges.
Located in the heart of Liverpool City, the hospital is close to public transport, shopping centres and eateries.
1. Recognised Degree in Occupational Therapy or other qualification deemed appropriate by the employer, with registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
2. Demonstrated advanced clinical skills and significant experience in the provision of occupational therapy services within a variety of medical-surgical conditions in acute settings
3. Current unrestricted Australian drivers licence (P2 Licence Acceptable) subject to obtaining NSW drivers licence within 3 months of appointment.
4. Demonstrated experience in the identification of evidence based practice and/or development of treatment protocols
5. 4.Demonstrated experience participating in the planning, implementation and evaluation of local service delivery incorporating the quality improvement process.
6. Demonstrated high level organisational and time management skills
7. Demonstrated experience in the provision of clinical supervision, mentoring of staff and/or students
8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and computer literacy in a range of programs
