About the role – 12-month Fixed term contract, full-time
You will be a part of People First Bank's Testing Services that enables the organisation to deliver high-quality, reliable digital solutions by providing end-to-end testing expertise across programs. The team partners with delivery squads to ensure functional, non-functional and integration testing needs are met. As a newly formed practice, we are building maturity, standardising NFR processes and expanding our expertise.
As a Non-Functional Test Specialist,you will play a pivotal role in shaping how we build a modern, resilient, and high-performing digital ecosystem for our members. You will be the subject matter expert for Performance, Resiliency, and other Non-Functional Testing disciplines owning the entire process from strategy through execution.
Key responsibilities include:
* Responsible for the design, implementation, and continuous optimisation of the organisation's Non-Functional Testing framework, tooling, artefacts, and processes.
* Review requirements and architecture to create fit-for-purpose test plans and test cases, ensuring alignment of acceptance criteria and defect management processes.
* Work closely with Delivery Teams, Test Managers, and the Test Management CoE to define and communicate Non-Functional testing strategies, ensuring early engagement and alignment with project and program needs.
* Act as the go-to expert for Performance and Resiliency Testing, translating industry standards and complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for business stakeholders and leadership.
* Perform risk assessments, partner with third-party vendors and internal teams, and drive remediation planning across all phases of the SDLC.
* Build and maintain quantitative measurement techniques, test scripts, and risk-driven automated testing to enhance test coverage, reliability, and productivity.
* Help improve the quality of production releases, minimising incidents through strategic, automated Non-Functional testing across the testing lifecycle.

To succeed in this role, you will bring:
* Deep expertise in Non-Functional Testing with 7+ years' experience across Performance, Resiliency, and enterprise-scale testing disciplines.
* Hands-on technical capability, including building and maintaining frameworks (JMeter, LoadRunner, TOSCA) and scripting for data generation (e.g., Python).
* Strong understanding of STLC and SDLC, with the ability to guide teams through complex Non-Functional testing within fast-paced delivery environments.
* Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, able to simplify technical concepts for business leaders and influence decisions across projects and programs.
* Proactive continuous improver, committed to enhancing test processes, artefacts, and the overall quality of production releases through structured Non-Functional testing.
