This role sits between office, customers, and the factory floor.
We’re looking for someone who understands (or wants to learn) metal fabrication, laser cutting, and how parts are made, and can translate that into accurate quotes and clear communication with customers. This is not a pure admin or bookkeeping role — the focus is on:
* Customer consultation on metal fabrication and wood/gas heater flue systems
* Quoting
* Basic bookkeeping with MYOB
* Office Administration
Quoting & Estimating (Core Responsibility)
* Prepare quotes for:
* Laser cutting jobs
* Folded components
* Custom metal fabrication
* Flue systems for wood and gas heaters ( can be trained if no experience)
* Interpret basic drawings, sketches, or customer requirements
* Liaise with factory staff to confirm:
* Material types
* Thickness
* Cutting and folding requirements
* Ensure quotes are accurate, competitive, and profitable
Customer & Technical Support
* Speak with customers to understand their needs
* Provide product recommendations and solutions
* Assist both retail and commercial clients
* Follow up quotes and build ongoing relationships
Administrative Support
* Manage emails, orders, and job tracking
* Maintain organised job records
* Assist with stock and order coordination
Light Bookkeeping (Secondary)
* Basic invoicing and data entry (MYOB)
* Assist with accounts/admin tasks as required
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone with a practical and technical mindset.
You don’t need to be an engineer—but you should be comfortable understanding how things are made.
Highly Valued Experience
Candidates with any of the following will stand out:
* CNC laser cutting or press brake experience
* Metal fabrication or sheet metal background
* Drafting / CAD (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.)
* Experience quoting fabrication or manufacturing jobs
* Trade or workshop experience
* Internal sales in a technical or industrial environment
Skills
* Strong communication skills (phone & email)
* Ability to interpret drawings or measurements (basic level is fine)
* Good attention to detail
* Comfortable using Excel and office systems
* Ability to learn quickly and solve problems

Pay: $32.00 – $38.00 per hour
