ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Environmental Approvals Co-ordinator within Technical Services, you will provide specialist environmental approvals support across project studies, mine development, and operational activities.
The role focuses on enabling compliant, sustainable, and socially responsible mining through strong technical input, coordination of studies, and effective regulatory engagement.
DUTIES
Assist in the preparation and submission of mining proposals and environmental approvals for upcoming and existing projects.
Support compliance with WA environmental legislation and regulatory frameworks, including DMIRS and EPA requirements.
Provide environmental input into technical planning, impact assessments, and risk management processes.
Assist with preparation and implementation of Environmental Management Plans, Mine Closure Plans, and rehabilitation programs.
Collate and submit regulatory applications including Programmes of Work, Works Approvals, and Native Vegetation Clearing Permits.
Plan, coordinate, and support baseline studies, surveys, audits, and assessments (internal and third-party).
Liaise with regulators, consultants, contractors, and internal technical and operational stakeholders to facilitate approvals.
Monitor legislative changes and provide technical advice to Technical Services and project teams.
Prepare environmental reports, technical documentation, and presentations.
Support stakeholder engagement activities, including community and Indigenous interfaces.
Undertake other approvals and environmental tasks as required to support project delivery.
QUALIFICATIONS
Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
Minimum 3 years' experience in WA mining environmental approvals.
Experience supporting approvals such as Mining Proposals, Programmes of Work, Works Approvals, clearing permits, and groundwater licences.
Exposure to baseline studies and approvals implementation during construction and operational phases.
Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including liaison with regulators and consultants.
Ability to prepare high-quality technical documentation and presentations.
Confident Microsoft Office user.
Ability to work collaboratively within a technical, multi-disciplinary project environment.
