Job Description
The Senior Medical Officer will be responsible for providing effective day-to-day clinical management of ambulatory and admitted patients, ensuring high-quality care is delivered within financial frameworks, quality standards, and legislative requirements. The successful candidate will work closely with Supervising GPs, Hospital Medical Officers, and other clinicians to deliver medical care and oversee service delivery where appropriate.
The role involves supervising junior medical staff, contributing to training programs, and supporting a positive, safe, and collaborative work environment within the nursing team.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* General registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), with no restrictions.
* Fellows of clinical Colleges (RACGP, ACRRM, ACEM, or RNZCUC), or postgraduate Emergency Medicine training (Emergency Medicine Certificate, Diploma, or Advanced Diploma equivalent).
* Critical Care, Emergency, or Urgent Care clinical experience with competency for independent practice.
* Experience in the support and supervision of junior medical staff.
