We're on the lookout for a talented Cloud Engineer!
We are seeking a skilled Cloud Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team and build high-quality digital solutions for our diverse range of clients.
Essential Requirements
* AUSTRALIAN CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED (may require security clearance for certain projects)
* Strong experience with at least one major cloud platform
* Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code
* Solid understanding of cloud networking (VPC/VNet design, routing, firewalls, load balancing, DNS)
* Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and automation
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
* Excellent documentation skills, communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively
* Understanding of agile development methodologies
Desirable Skills
* Strong experience with AWS and Azure
* Practical scripting ability (especially Python)
* Practical experience with Pulumi
* Knowledge of Australian compliance frameworks (e.g., ASD Essential Eight, ISM/IRAP, APRA CPS 234/230)
* Experience implementing security best practices: IAM, least privilege, secrets management, encryption
* Exposure to DevSecOps practices: SAST/DAST, dependency scanning, policy-as-code
* Working knowledge of serverless architectures and event-driven design
* Ability to build and support highly available and resilient systems
* Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting
* Cloud certifications such as:
o AWS Solutions Architect/DevOps Engineer
o Azure Solutions Architect Expert
o Google Professional Cloud Architect
* Experience mentoring junior engineers
Key Responsibilities
Implement Cloud Solutions
* Design, build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to enable reliable, automated software development and delivery
* Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code (Pulumi, CloudFormation, Terraform)
* Automate environment provisioning, configuration, and scaling
* Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following best practices
* Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving cloud engineering standards
Cloud & Systems Operations
* Operate and optimise cloud environments with a focus on reliability and performance
* Manage networking, identity, and access controls in line with security best practices
* Ensure high availability, backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity are built into systems
* Participate in incident response for production systems
Technical Collaboration
* Work effectively within multidisciplinary team
* Participate in technical design discussions and architectural decisions
* Document technical solutions and maintain clear communication with team members
* Share knowledge and mentor other cloud engineers to foster a collaborative learning environment
Problem Solving
* Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues proactively
* Identify technical risks and work with the team to develop mitigation strategies
* Continuously learn and adapt to new technologies and development approaches
