We are seeking a part-time Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator/WHS Advisor to support our Residential Aged Care Homes in Broken Hill and Mildura. This role offers you flexible work arrangements within 4-day week with opportunity to work from your home office.

About the role

Working as the Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator/WHS Advisor you will proactively manage individual workplace rehabilitation programs for ill and injured employees to facilitate safe, timely and durable return to work as well as support SCCQ strive for continuous improvement and compliance in Health and Safety. Essential to your role is the ability to work simultaneously with relevant stakeholders including injured employee, treating health professionals, Work Cover and SCCQ Managers to achieve desired return to work outcomes.

The role will also give you the opportunity to drive the integration of safe culture and implement key deliverable outcomes to promote a culture of minimizing incident and injury risks, and support rigorous risk management, compliance, and robust safety outcomes.

What are the key responsibilities?

Facilitate proactive early intervention and efficient claims and injury case management of workers compensation injuries to ensure effective injury management and legislative compliance from report to claim closureWork collaboratively with the relevant stakeholders (injured employee, treating health professionals, the insurer/s, SCCQ managers) to achieve desired RTW outcomes and resolution of workers compensation claims, ensuring responsible financial claims management.Prompt development of quality rehabilitation and return to work plans in consultation with key stakeholders (including treating practitioners) to ensure a safe, timely and durable return to work of injured employees.Ensure set timeframes and compliance measures are adhered to in line with all legislative and SCCQ policies and procedures.Participate in claims reviews and case conferences as support and guidance to managers in injury management. Provide input into development of procedures and practices that support proactive and effective return to work.Maintain case files and caseload statistics to ensure appropriate and accurate records and comply with confidentiality and privacy requirements in accordance with legislation and SCCQ policy.Accurately complete administrative tasks associated with injury management and workers compensation, including preparing compensation payment notifications, managing reimbursements of compensation payments to ensure timely recovery from insurer and ensuring prompt submission and follow-up with the insurer to secure prompt reimbursements.Promote and support the identification of health and safety related risks and provide advice on suitable risk controls in coordination with relevant stakeholders including managers and site-based safety leads.Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to implement key WHS risk management related with relevant managers to ensure thorough investigation and implementation of corrective measures to prevent recurrence.Facilitate the embedding of safety policies, procedures, compliance and risk management practices.Partner with managers to implement and embed safety requirements, procedures and guidelines.Support and contribute to WHS projects and initiatives aimed at improving safety performance and implementing new strategies.

What will you bring to the role?

Workplace Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator training that meets New South Wales and Victoria's jurisdiction accreditation requirements.Tertiary qualification in WHS or related field.Previous experience in Claims and Injury Management associated with physical and psychological injuries/illness.Comprehensive knowledge of Workers Compensation legislation in NSW and Victoria.Demonstrated experience driving effective claims management and partnering relevant insurers, brokers and relevant stakeholders to drive effective claims management.Incident investigation experience (preferred)Strong written and verbal and interpersonal communication skills.Developed time management skills with the ability to work autonomously in coordination with relevant stakeholders.Ability to travel to sites may be required at times.
