💡 The Opportunity
We are hiring a senior Engineering Lead to partner closely with our Founder/Head of Product (Joel) and our CTO (Andrew) as Medow transitions from startup to scale-up. This is not a traditional people-management role. Instead, it is a highly strategic, technically deep leadership role focused on shaping how we design, architect, and deliver Medow’s most important product and engineering initiatives.
You will operate at the intersection of product, engineering, and AI, helping to define our technical direction, make critical architectural decisions, and ensure we execute with speed, quality, and discipline. You will be a key technical voice in the business, confident in your opinions, pragmatic in your trade-offs, and deeply aligned with our mission to deliver outstanding outcomes for specialist doctors.
You will work in person from our Sydney office with flexibility for hybrid arrangements.
🎯 What You’ll Do
Technical strategy & architecture
* Partner with the CTO to shape Medow’s engineering and AI architecture as we scale.
* Lead the design and scoping of major strategic technology initiatives
* Make recommendations about technical trade-offs of speed, reliability, and scalability.
Execution leadership (without formal line management)
* Ownership of cross-team engineering initiatives from concept through to delivery.
* Work with Eng and ML teams to turn strategy into high-quality implementation.
* Remove blockers, improve ways of working, and raise the bar on technical rigour.
Product and system understanding
* Develop an end-to-end understanding of Medow’s product, integrations, and infra.
* Help support our strong uptime requirements and high quality customer experience.
Cross-functional partnership
* Collaborate with Product, Sales and Customer teams on priorities and direction.
* Engage constructively with non-technical stakeholders.

Domain experience (nice to have)
* Health tech or regulated industry experience is a plus, but not required.
* Experience working with complex integrations or enterprise systems is beneficial.
