**The Role**:
This is a 6 month, full-time contract role to support our future growth. We are looking to onboard an experienced user experience designer as an integral part of our digital projects team. The user experience designer will drive the delivery of guest centric design solutions for both new and existing digital experiences across all customer journeys. Use your skills in understanding user pain points and user interaction design to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
**Key responsibilities include**:
- Creating innovative solutions for a wide variety of user experience design challenges.
- Leading the design for new digital experiences and improvements of existing digital experiences.
- Planning and defining a strategy for the direction of future iterations.
- Prompt iterations on multiple interactive design solutions.
- Advocating for guest centric design solutions
- Developing visual concepts, storyboards, wireframes, and prototypes to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas.
- Delivering work that's not only guest-friendly, creative, and aesthetically engaging, but which also produces results.
- Working alongside the product manager and developers throughout all stages of the production cycle.
- Assessing and optimising the performance of new and existing features by actively participating in user testing, research and assessing performance metrics.
- Developing and maintaining detailed user-interface specifications and digital brand style guides (including figma and brand style guides, style sheets, templates and assets).
- Presenting design work to multiple teams and senior leadership for review and feedback.
- Keeping up to date on competitor and industry trends
- Contributing to the group's shared knowledge of user-centered design and research methodologies
- Actively seeking and using data, insights and research around UX pain points to solve for design challenges
**How Do You Measure Up?**
- 5+ years of experience as a user experience designer, interaction designer or similar role.
- A portfolio or samples of work demonstrating experience creating great user-centered design solutions
- Experience working in a fast paced, ever changing environment.
- Passion and enthusiasm for providing an exceptional customer experience and all things digital.
- Tertiary qualifications in user/customer experience design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience (desirable).
- Knowledge and experience in the travel and tourism industry (desirable).
- Strong knowledge of usability principles, best practices for web-based information architecture and digital design.
- Experience designing products for mobile and desktop.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling skills
- Experience working in a collaborative multi-disciplinary team and working directly with developers for implementation of designs
- Experience in a highly Agile/scrum environment
- Proficient in design software and prototyping tools (e.g. InDesign, Adobe Suite, Figma).
- Knowledge of HTML/CSS; JavaScript (desirable).
