About The Role
As the Agricultural Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the school's agricultural programs by ensuring the effective and efficient management of agricultural systems and resources.
You will be responsible for maintaining the school's agricultural field study sites, animals, crops, machinery, and equipment to ensure they remain safe, functional, and secure.
Working closely with teaching staff, you will help deliver high-quality, hands-on learning experiences that engage students in real-world agricultural practices.

Responsibilities
Prepare and maintain all agricultural field sites, including fencing.
Carry out crop and soil improvement and enhancement activities.
Operate and carry out general maintenance of various agricultural machinery, equipment and materials.
Plant, water and care for crops and market gardens and carry out related duties including regular physical maintenance including the use of appropriate insecticides and fertilisers where necessary.
Carry out animal husbandry duties.
Assist and support the Agriculture Teacher with practical classes and activities.
Qualifications and Requirements
Current Working with Children Clearance (blue card) issued by Blue Card Services.
Ability to work in a regulated environment; relevant basic agricultural skills.

The Department of Education is a family inclusive workplace.
The role is full-time at the OO2 progression level with eligibility for progression to OO3 once specified criteria are met.
Salary rate reflects OO2 to OO3 classification.
