Support Professional for Children and Families

We are seeking an experienced Support Professional to join our team in a dynamic role that requires excellent communication, assessment, and case planning skills. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of problematic and harmful sexual behaviours in children and young people, as well as experience working with diverse groups.


About the Role

* This is a challenging yet rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and families affected by harmful sexual behaviours.
* You will be part of a multidisciplinary team providing comprehensive assessments, developing and implementing safety and support plans, and coordinating wrap-around services.


Responsibilities

* Provide tailored support and advocacy to children, young people, and families regarding problematic and harmful sexual behaviours.
* Conduct comprehensive assessments to develop, implement, and review safety and support plans that address both strengths and areas of risk.
* Coordinate wrap-around support by working closely with government departments, schools, health services, and community agencies.
* Build strong relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and other diverse groups to ensure inclusive and respectful practice.
* Identify and respond to risks, including escalating concerns and making child protection reports where necessary.


Requirements

* Tertiary qualification in social work, psychology, human services, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
* Strong understanding of problematic and harmful sexual behaviours in children and young people, including associated risks and vulnerabilities.
* Demonstrated experience supporting children, young people, and families, particularly in child protection or similar settings.
* Cultural competence and experience working respectfully with diverse groups.
* Current driver's license.
