At our organization, we are seeking a skilled Casual Mechanical Technician Level 1 to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate who possesses excellent mechanical aptitude and experience in maintenance repairs.
The Casual Mechanical Technician will be responsible for performing corrective maintenance repairs, general repair work, and preventative maintenance on all Terminal equipment. This includes performing boiler making/welding and ensuring all repair and service work is carried out efficiently and in a timely manner.
Responsibilities
* Fault finding and emergency breakdown repairs on Straddle Carriers, Reach Stackers, Forklift trucks, Quay cranes, and ancillary equipment.
* Fault finding and general repair work on Straddle Carriers, Reach Stackers, Forklift trucks, Quay cranes, and ancillary equipment.
* Performing PM servicing as required in compliance with PM schedules provided.
* Ensuring all repair and service work is carried out efficiently and in a timely manner.
* Ability to work independently and without direct supervision.
* Compliance with company OHS&E regulations.
Key skills and qualifications include:
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Australian or recognized Mechanical trade qualification.
* Minimum completion of year 10.
* Disconnect Reconnect restricted electrical license (preferred).
* Forklift operator's license.
* Elevated work platform license.
* Knowledge of current ports mechanical and electrical crane control systems.
To excel in this role, you will need strong analytical and numeracy skills, effective time management skills, and sound communication skills (written and verbal). Additionally, you should have a basic to intermediate level of Microsoft Windows Applications / DOS based programs.
