About the Job
The IT Systems Engineer ensures the reliable installation, operation, and maintenance of PTA’s Windows and Unix servers and IT systems, maintaining high availability and security. The role focuses on analysing system performance, identifying issues, and implementing solutions to improve service delivery. It also includes creating and maintaining support documentation, promoting knowledge sharing within the team, and staying updated on evolving technologies and standards.
Responsible for day-to-day system administration, the role involves installing, supporting, and maintaining server infrastructure while ensuring performance aligns with PTA requirements. The Systems Engineer works within SLAs and the ITIL framework, fostering strong stakeholder relationships and contributing to service continuity planning and process improvement. The position also provides expert support for projects, offers guidance on technical issues, and plays a key role in delivering high-quality IT services across the organisation.
About You!
To excel in this role, you should possess:
* Holds an IT-related qualification or significant recent experience in server support, with strong knowledge of server, network, security, storage, and virtualisation technologies.
* Experienced in server administration, backup solutions, problem analysis, and ITIL-aligned client service delivery, ensuring reliable and secure systems.
* Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and engage effectively with a range of stakeholders.
* Skilled in analysing data, reporting findings, and managing time effectively to meet targets and work independently.

There is one permanent full-time opportunity available for an immediate start. Applicants assessed as suitable through this process may be used to fill similar vacancies both fixed term and permanent that may arise within the next 12 months.
