The Role
The IT / OT Solution Architect – Asset Domain enables business value through the design and delivery of integrated, fit for purpose technology solutions that connect Information and Operational systems across the Asset lifecycle.
This role aligns technology delivery with long term enterprise goals, ensuring solutions meet non-functional requirements and enterprise architecture principles to enable scalable, resilient, and value driven operations.
As a key member of the Architecture Practice, the IT/OT Solution Architect leads and develops the design and solutioning of systems for the Asset domain while coaching delivery teams. By collaborating with business and technology leaders, the role will shape solutions that enhance asset performance, resilience and sustainability. The role provides architectural leadership, governance and assurance across delivery initiatives, ensuring alignment with long-term enterprise goals and technology direction.
Your key responsibilities
* Solution Design and Delivery – Lead solution design and delivery across the Asset domain, ensuring alignment with business objectives, technology strategy, and enterprise standards, while improving asset performance and efficiency through fit-for-purpose, value driven technology solutions
* Architecture Practice and Governance – Strengthen and govern the architecture practice by enhancing standards, methodologies, and reusable assets, applying emerging technologies and industry trends, and ensuring transparent, high-quality solution architecture that manages risk, drives consistency and builds architectural capability across delivery teams
* Technology Planning and Optimisation – Partner with stakeholders to assess business, financial, and change impacts of technology decisions, promoting secure, sustainable and efficient designs that modernise platforms, reduce cost and complexity, optimise legacy systems, and shape procurement to ensure value for money for strategic alignment
* Collaboration and Influence – Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business priorities into clear architectural requirements and apply shared standards and patterns that improve integration, reduce duplication and enhance delivery efficiency.
What we're looking for
* Advanced expertise in solution architecture, with a proven ability to design and lead technology solutions that align with business strategy, particularly within asset-intensive environments
* Strong knowledge of architecture frameworks and models (e.g. TOGAF), with demonstrated experience applying TOGAF principles within agile delivery environments.
* Proven ability to ensure solutions align with business objectives, architecture principles, and enterprise technology roadmaps.
* Deep technical expertise across core information technologies, including compute platforms, software engineering, data, system integration, and automation, enabling the design of scalable, reliable, and fit-for-purpose solutions.
* Strong understanding of SCADA and other Operational Technology (OT) systems, with hands-on experience integrating OT platforms with enterprise IT systems.
* Ability to evaluate solution options, articulate trade-offs, and estimate the financial and business impact of architectural decisions.
* Demonstrated capability to influence, enable, and coach delivery teams, fostering high-quality outcomes and the delivery of value-driven solutions.
* Tertiary qualification in IT Engineering
