Job Opportunity: Cognitive Care Specialist
The Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District seeks a skilled Cognitive Care Specialist to join its Assertive Community Management Team. This role involves delivering specialist care to patients with complex cognitive and behavioral challenges that affect diagnosis and require tailored interventions.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct comprehensive assessments, prepare detailed reports, manage cases, offer evidence-based treatment recommendations, and formulate management plans to support recovery and long-term wellbeing.
* Deliver specialist care to patients with complex cognitive and behavioral challenges.
* Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team and demonstrated skills in case management of clients with complex issues.
Requirements
* Master or Doctoral qualification in Clinical Neuropsychology or Clinical Psychology. AHPRA registration with endorsement or working towards endorsement to practice as a Clinical Neuropsychologist or Clinical Psychologist is required.
* Experience in performing neuropsychological assessments, treatment planning, report writing, and providing clinical feedback.
* Knowledge of and/or experience in the assessment and diagnosis of neuropsychological syndromes in a drug and alcohol setting with complex comorbidities.
Preferred Qualifications
* Knowledge of and/or experience working with a diverse range of patients with complex presentations, including neurological disorders, drug and alcohol, psychiatric, and/or other medical conditions.
* Demonstrated commitment to working and partnering with Aboriginal patients, families, and communities as well as improving health outcomes for socially disadvantaged groups within the local community.
