The Opportunity
We are looking to recruit a Metallurgist Process Engineer to support a range of projects across our heavy industrial clients. In this role, you will work closely with a variety of clients to: Improve metallurgical and production processes, develop and implement robust procedures and lead client teams to optimise production while ensuring quality control standards are consistently met. This position suits a motivated, pragmatic problem solver who can organise, advise, prioritise, and proactively drive improvements.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and oversee in-house and on-site test programs, including data analysis and reporting
Monitor day-to-day plant operations and initiate corrective actions to address commodity loss
Ensure a high standard of Process Engineering support to Production Teams to achieve operational excellence
Provide engineering input for troubleshooting operational issues
Design, justify, and deliver projects to optimise plant performance
Support on-site commissioning with process engineering teams
Supervise installation and commissioning of pilot plant equipment at client sites
Maintain and manage relationships with key suppliers to optimise value and ensure procurement compliance
Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives
Lead and influence change initiatives and ensure effective implementation in operational environments
Manage structured data systems for efficient processing, reporting, and auditing
What You Will Need
Bachelor's Degree in Metallurgy, Mineral Processing, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline
Minimum of 2 years on site operational experience
Strong understanding of process control systems and how they relate to metallurgical performance
Demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships across all levels of an organisation
Exceptional attention to detail, planning, scheduling, and organisational skills
