We are seeking to establish a pool of Laboratory Technicians for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year and up to the end of Term 1, 2026. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The Role
Suitable applicants should organise the science preparation areas and classroom laboratories to ensure a safe learning environment and undertake general housekeeping of chemicals, equipment (including repairs and maintenance) and other resources. Laboratory Technicians should prepare chemicals, equipment and materials, design and construct teaching aids, and collect and care for living organisms for study purposes in compliance with chemical, physical and biological laboratory practices and legislative requirements.
Suitable applicants should ideally possess good communication skills and can work independently and as part of a team. Also, It is desirable that suitable applicants have experience working in a high school laboratory setting.

* Demonstrated experience working within a science laboratory, including knowledge of laboratory techniques and relevant safety and legislative requirements.
* Demonstrated knowledge of science subjects relevant to the curriculum taught in secondary schools and the ability to design and construct experiments and equipment to support curriculum requirements.
* Demonstrated good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
* Demonstrated organisational and time management skills and ability to work independently.
* Demonstrated well developed keyboarding and computer skills including a working knowledge of databases, spreadsheets and word processing.
