Job Description
BEKAERT DESLEE (AUST) PTY LTD Bekaert Deslee is looking for a Textile designer with a product development interest and experience from a Textile manaufacturing background to join our wonderful creative team. This role will have a focus on developing blinds and decoratorfabric products. This includes managing the process from inspiration to completed sample stage.
The successful applicant will work with customers, designers, the sales team and production to complete finished products suitable for sale. Benefits Great creative team & broader work culture.

Task & Responsibilities Researching designs and trends for potential product development across all BDAU market segments Utilising design skills, product and market knowledge in collaboration with BDAU Product Managers to develop contemporary, original and innovative knitted and woven fabric designs for range development and expansion. Developing and implementing original design concepts for commercial and industrial textiles for existing and new markets in jacquard woven and knitted mattress ticking, upholstery, blinds and drapery.
Providing technical expertise and experience in fabric construction to support and guide our Sales Department and other Product Developers. Weaving and knitting of samples Qualification & Experience Degree or Advanced Diploma in Textile Design. Technical expertise and knowledge of the construction and characteristics and application of jacquard woven and knitted fabrics and yarn technology.
Strong understanding of the fabric manufacturing process including the ability to set up textile manufacturing machinery and the understanding of fabric production working principles. Ability to understand and apply specifications, requirements and standards for yarns, fibres, textile constructions and finishing coatings within a textile manufacturing environment. Ability to recognise appropriate application and end use of yarn dyed jacquard woven textiles and circular knitted fabrics.
Ability to make relevant and appropriate recommendations for the development of products and ranges. Well-developed communication skills to enable effective exchange of information with colleagues and customers. Advanced skills on EAT design software, Adobe and MS Office.
