Responsibilities
* Treat animals medically and surgically, and administer and prescribe drugs, analgesics, and general and local anaesthetics.
* Determine the presence and nature of abnormal conditions by physical examination, laboratory testing and diagnostic imaging (including radiography and ultrasound).
* Perform surgery, dress wounds and set broken bones.
* Provide obstetric services to animals.
* Participate in programs designed to prevent the occurrence and spread of animal diseases.
* Inoculate animals against, and test for, infectious diseases and notify authorities of outbreaks of infectious animal diseases.
* Perform autopsies to determine the cause of death.
* Advise clients on health, nutrition and feeding, hygiene, breeding and care of animals.
* May provide professional services to commercial firms producing biological and pharmaceutical products.
* May specialise in the treatment of a particular animal group or in a particular specialty area (e.g., cardiology, ophthalmology, surgery, oncology, radiology, diagnostic imaging, internal medicine, chiropractic, dermatology or critical care).

* Experienced veterinarians can expect to earn a salary from $80,000 upwards.

What we are looking for
* Minimum 1 year of experience in small animal practice veterinarian; 2 years for an ECC Veterinarian; 3 years for a specialist.
* Bachelor of Veterinary Science or Doctor of Veterinary Medicine qualification accredited with the AVBC, and/or have completed a NAVLE or AVE examination and be eligible for registration as required to practice in the relevant State.
* International veterinarians with a minimum of 1 year full-time post-qualification experience may be eligible for sponsorship through VetPartners.

* Communication skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, essential for delivering superior client service.
