Job Description
What You'll Be Doing
* Assess statutory building applications and routine planning proposals
* Provide pre-lodgement advice and respond to customer enquiries
* Conduct inspections and technical assessments
* Prepare reports, recommendations, and advice for internal and external stakeholders
* Represent the City in public meetings, appeals, and enquiries
* Maintain accurate records and contribute to continuous improvement
Qualifications
What You'll Bring
* Tertiary qualifications in Building or a related discipline
* Registration as a Building Surveyor Practitioner in WA (Level 1 or 2)
* Strong knowledge of statutory building control in a local government context
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
* Sound judgement and decision-making abilities
* Experience in building surveying and statutory assessment
* Local government experience (desirable)
