About the Role
This is exciting opportunity for a junior technician to join the Canberra based Blacktree Technology Team and further their technical knowledge and skill as well as develop the knowledge and skill to deliver technical training to our clients, supplementing our senior technician and instructor. The role also includes participation in a rostered on-call arrangement supporting key customer communication systems.

Supporting critical Defence programs, our team specialises in both new and legacy communication technologies. We provide comprehensive services, including the design, engineering, procurement, manufacturing, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of communication systems.
What You'll Do
* Undertake preventative and corrective maintenance as directed by team leaders or senior technicians. Assist the lead instructor and eventually deliver technical and operations training courses to a variety of customer stakeholder groups.
* Participate in Blacktree's on-call roster for after-hours support, which may include travel to sites and fault rectification.
* Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, repair, and assembly of radio frequency communications equipment and systems.
* Accurately follow maintenance and test procedures, recording findings or results, and producing detailed test or maintenance reports.
* Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and other technical documentation to support maintenance, assembly, and testing activities.
* Test radio frequency communications equipment and systems using specialised test equipment
* Diagnose faults and investigate issues within existing equipment and systems and identify appropriate solutions.
* Contribute to the development of technical documentation, training materials, course content, and publications.
* Undertake travel within Australia as required.
Our Ideal Candidate
Blacktree Technology invites applications from candidates who can satisfy most of the following criteria:
* Minimum 1 years' hands-on experience as a radio frequency (RF) communications technician. With minimum qualification of Certificate IV in an RF or electronic communications discipline.
* A desire to develop technical instruction and training knowledge and skills, for communication or satellite communications systems.
* Innovative, resourceful, adaptable, and thrives in dynamic environments, can think critically and craft solutions amidst uncertainty.
* Available to participate in a rostered on-call arrangement, providing 24/7 technical support to the customer operations.
* An Australian citizen, or with the right to work in Australia, capable of obtaining a Negative Vetting 1 security clearance; this is essential.
* Holds a current driver's licence and has access to a reliable vehicle.
