Environmental Energy Services are looking for an Apprentice Electrician (2nd - 4th Year) in the Greater Geelong and Surrounding Suburbs! Solar + Battery experience preferred but not required! This is a great opportunity for anyone looking to enter an exciting and fast-paced working environment.
Primary Responsibilities
* Assist the licensed electricians with the installation of solar PV and battery storage systems
* Carry and prepare tools, materials, and equipment required for daily works
* Carefully follow instructions and work under the A-Grades supervision at all times. Ask as many questions as you need if ever unsure on something.
* Have and openness and willingness to learn!
Solar PV Installation Support
* Assist with mounting solar panel racking systems on residential and commercial roofs
* Help position, lift, and secure solar panels safely
* Assist with running and securing DC and AC cabling (conduit, cable tray, roof penetrations)
* Label cables and components as directed
* Maintain a clean and safe worksite during and after installations
Battery & Inverter Installation Support
* Assist with mounting inverters, batteries, isolators, and switchgear
* Help with cable preparation, terminations (under supervision), and equipment positioning
* Assist with installation of battery enclosures and related hardware
Electrical & Site Duties
* Assist with basic electrical tasks appropriate to skill level (e.g. drilling, fixing, conduit work)
* Perform basic testing and checks under supervision
* Identify and report faults, damaged equipment, or safety hazards to the supervisor
Safety & Compliance
* Follow all workplace health and safety (WHS) procedures
* Use PPE correctly at all times (harnesses, helmets, gloves, etc.)
* Assist with setting up safe access, fall protection, and site safety controlsMaintain awareness of electrical and working-at-heights risks
Learning & Development
* Actively learn electrical trade skills related to solar and battery installations
* Attend TAFE and complete required apprenticeship training modules
* Ask questions and take guidance from senior electricians
* Develop understanding of Australian Standards relevant to solar and electrical work
General Duties
* Load and unload vehicles and assist with stock management
* Keep tools, vehicles, and work areas clean and organised
* Represent EES professionally with our clients
Mandatory Accreditations/Licences
* White Card (Construction Induction)
* Valid Driver's Licence
