This strategic leadership role requires a dynamic, innovative and accomplished speech pathologist with a passion for acute inpatients, staff development and service improvement. You will partner with the Director & Manager of Speech Pathology and Deputy Director of Operations - Acute Medicine (Allied Health) to provide strategic direction and lead the acute speech pathology team to provide high quality, innovative and responsive Speech Pathology services.Your superior leadership and communication skills will be instrumental in developing a positive and dynamic teaching culture and inspiring others to excellence. You will apply strong skills in networking and collaboration as a significant contributor to a variety of high-level committees and project teams across Eastern Health in addition to external agencies.Acute Clinical services are provided to inpatients at Angliss, Box Hill and Maroondah Hospitals across the surgery, ICU, specialty medicine (including stroke), ED and general medicine programs.Leadership and highly developed problem solving & communication skills are essential as this role will be an active contributor to the Acute Medicine and Allied Health leadership teams to work collaboratively to improve patient and team outcomes at this level. To support you to be your best in this role, Eastern Health offers monthly clinical supervision and access to research, quality improvement and leadership training opportunities.About youTo be successful in this role you will possess:Recognised Degree in Speech Pathology, and post-graduate qualifications (or working towards) in an appropriate fieldEligible for practicing membership with Speech Pathology AustraliaDemonstrated clinical experience in acute services (minimum 10 years’) and multi-disciplinary models of careHighly developed interpersonal and leadership experienceA strong commitment to high quality care, and experience in developing and implementing quality improvement and quality assurance activities.Extensive experience in supervision and development of staffExperience in successfully working with a variety of health care professionals and senior health service leaders.The ability to work as part of a diverse teamExcellent communication and organisational skillsPost graduate qualifications in an appropriate fieldPlease refer to the attached position description for further details of the role and key selection criteria.Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice).
