The Role
The role is responsible for the effective administration, monitoring and continuous improvement of the Department's HRMIS from an application systems perspective. It involves analysing and enhancing HR business processes, designing and implementing system improvements, and contributing to project management activities related to legislative, policy and operational changes. The position also undertakes research, resolves complex system and operational issues, and ensures the integrity, performance and optimal utilisation of HR systems.
The role provides critical support to the branch by ensuring HRMIS solutions align with enterprise architecture, security and governance requirements. It oversees system administration, access control, data security and compliance with statutory and organisational policies, while contributing to strategic planning and continuous service improvement. The position also promotes best practice, supports change initiatives and fosters a safe, inclusive and high‐performing work environment.
In addition, the role maintains strong client and stakeholder relationships by providing expert advice to leadership and collaborating with internal and external partners. It represents ICT in relevant forums and works across the organisation to support informed decision‐making, promote service capabilities and achieve desired business outcomes.

Eligibility
* Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
* Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before you start.
Selection Criteria
* Demonstrated well‐developed skills and experience in configuring and integrating a Human Resource Management Information System (HRMIS) in a large and complex organisation.
* Demonstrated well‐developed knowledge of functional elements and operations of an HRMIS, including the integration and exploitation of HRMIS services and functions by other systems.
* Demonstrated well‐developed verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with key internal and external stakeholders and build strong relationships.
* Demonstrated well‐developed skills and experience in recognising opportunities to enhance product/service delivery and capitalise on these through effective change strategies.
* Demonstrated well‐developed analytical and conceptual skills to provide innovative solutions to complex problems.
