About the role
The focus of this Ranger role is to deliver on-ground, hands-on, park work as planned with the Ranger Team Leader and other Rangers in parks around Ballarat and Creswick with a strong focus on Woowookarung Regional Park.
This role will undertake activities requiring a level of environmental and service delivery expertise. A snapshot of works this role will be undertaking on a day to day basis are walking track and bicycle track clearing and maintenance, facilities such as toilets and bbq cleaning, illegally dumped waste collection, installing signs, seats and safety barriers, weed spraying, basic tree felling, addressing concerns and customer complaints and looking after a depot with plant and equipment.

We're looking for someone with:
* Relevant qualifications and skills for the on-ground management of the Parks Victoria estate, such as landscaping, carpentry and/or other trade. Other qualifications such as natural resource management, conservation and land management are also relevant.
* Demonstrated experience delivering routine and moderately complex on-ground services and projects under general supervision and as part of a team to achieve agreed outcomes.
* Strong interpersonal skills and good verbal communication, including the ability to explain concepts to people of different backgrounds and to engage constructively with colleagues and stakeholders.
