The East Kimberley isdiverse in many ways, with a unique mix of cultures, lifestyles,and abundant opportunities.TheOpportunityWeare looking for a motivated Coordinator Finance to join our FinanceTeam in Kununurra to assist in the coordinationof day-to-dayfinancial operations in accordance with policies, procedures, andlegislation, while coordinating a collaborative team to maintainconsistent financial practices and skills versatility. The roleprimarily involves hands-on financial tasks while ensuring workloadis efficiently allocated among the team.Responsibilitiesof the position include:Accurately and promptly record financial transactions,including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments, ensuringcompliance with financial legislation and policies.Act as a role model for ethical standards, confidentiality, andprofessionalism coordinating, assigning tasks, and promotingcross-training within the finance team.Prioritise, coordinate, and oversee finance tasks to ensureaccurate and timely accounts payable, accounts receivable, taxreporting, ledger maintenance, and end-of-monthreconciliations, journals, and reporting.Adapt to changing circumstances and make sound decisions withindelegated authority, policies, and legislative requirements,ensuring seamless financial service delivery and timelyresponses to stakeholder enquiries.Perform end of month reconciliations of bank accounts, creditcards, and general ledger accounts, and prepare monthly andquarterly financial reports.Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes andimprove operational efficiency.Oversee monthly Council payment reports, investments, leasemanagement, and quarterly inventory stocktakes.Assist in monitoring cash flow and financial performance,producing reports with variance analysis.Compile information for internal audits and assist withexternal audit processes.Provide support to the Manager Finance in higher-levelfinancial functions including preparation of management andstatutory reports, assistance with the monitoring of annualbudgets, and participation in long-term financial planning andanalysis activities.Adegree level qualification in Finance or other relevant discipline,or equivalent lesser qualification/s and relevant experience is anessential for this role.Moreinformation about the position and the requirements are in thePosition Description at the bottom of thispage.Salary and BenefitsWorking for SWEKmeans that in addition to the competitive annualsalary range indicated at the top of this page (inclusive ofallowances and superannuation, dependent on skills and experience),you may also enjoy a range of benefits including:6 weeks annual leave11.5% superannuation with the option to have the Shire make anadditional matching 5% co-contributionSalary packaging opportunities for motor vehicles, rent ormortgage interest expenses11 public holidays, plus 2 additional 'Local Government Days'per yearFlexible working arrangementsShire provided corporate uniformsOpportunities for professional developmentA variety of health and wellbeing programs including freemembership to the Kununurra Leisure Centre and Wyndham Pool,free health assessments, mental health programs and EmployeeAssistance Provider (EAP) servicesAPPLYNOW!If youare ready to be part of our diversely talented team and to buildyour future with an organisation that makes an impact, improveslives and inspires others please click the‘Apply’ button at the bottom of thispage or contact Alex Bell, our Director Corporate Services, on 0403413 182 for a confidential discussion.Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Australia and willbe required to provide evidence of this entitlement— acceptable evidence includes an Australian or NewZealand passport, birth certificate, or foreign passport with arelevant visa.
