Maintenance Reliability and Compliance Officer

We are looking for a Maintenance Reliability and Compliance Officer to join our team.
The Maintenance Reliability and Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring the reliability, safety, and regulatory compliance of Axis Hire's mining and civil equipment fleet and associated facilities.
The role focuses on proactive maintenance planning, equipment performance monitoring, and compliance management to maximise asset uptime, reduce maintenance costs, and ensure all plant operates in accordance with statutory and company requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver key inputs to the maintenance planning process to support cost-efficient and timely execution of major maintenance activities.
Ensure all registerable plant and equipment meet inspection, testing, and registration requirements with relevant regulatory bodies.
Analyse live and historical data, including oil sampling results, telematics, and condition monitoring reports, to identify trends and implement reliability improvements.
Develop and maintain maintenance and compliance records in alignment with company systems and legislative requirements.
Support root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action planning for equipment failures or non-compliance events.
Collaborate with maintenance planners, site supervisors, and OEM representatives to optimise asset reliability and performance.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing equipment availability and reducing unplanned downtime.
Assist in developing and reviewing maintenance standards, procedures, and work instructions to ensure consistency and compliance.
Skills and Experience
Engineering Degree or Trade qualification in mechanical heavy equipment maintenance (or equivalent experience).
Strong understanding of mining and civil mobile equipment maintenance practices.
Experience with asset reliability systems, compliance reporting, and maintenance planning.
Proficiency in data analysis tools and condition monitoring systems (e.g., telematics, oil analysis).
Knowledge of relevant WHS legislation, standards, and plant registration requirements.
Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving ability.
Experience with CMMS platforms.
