Electrical Engineer Technician Role
The Electrical Engineering Technician plays a pivotal part in designing and implementing electrical systems for residential, commercial, or industrial installations. This position involves electrical power generation, transmission, solar system design, and control systems.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Design, operate, and maintain electrical networks, machinery, electronic communications, instrumentation, and control systems.
* Prepare cost estimates, reports, and specifications for electrical systems and equipment.
* Create electrical circuits, components, systems, and equipment designs.
* Develop methods to test electronic components, circuits, and systems.
* Supervise the installation, testing, operation of electrical systems and equipment.
* Maintain operating standards for electrical systems and equipment.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Completion of a relevant electrician apprenticeship program is required.
* A Bachelor of Science or Diploma of Engineering degree is preferred.
* An electrician license is necessary in the state of practice.
* 3-5 years of electrical experience are desired.
* Ability to lift, carry, push, pull up to 50 pounds.
* Ability to bend, climb, squat, reach, kneel.
* Comfortable reading electrical blueprints, schematics, diagrams.
* Working knowledge of electrical theory and principles.
* Able to operate hand tools associated with electrical work.
* Mathematical problem-solving skills are necessary.
