Senior Security Analyst (Canberra or Adelaide)

The Senior Security Analyst in Managed Security Services is responsible for providing advanced security operations, project leadership and management, capability development and thought leadership, and Tier 2 and 3 analytical support for MSS clients and capabilities.
In this role, you will:
1. Perform SIEM-based event analysis and incident triage, and coordinate and manage security incidents and projects, remotely and onsite, with internal and external stakeholders.
2. Lead threat hunting activities, perform vulnerability assessments, and develop new detection capabilities through alert creation and tuning.
3. Provide end-to-end support for customer and internal systems.
4. Support operational and project activities with clients, proactively driving improvements and delivering successful outcomes.
5. Communicate internally and with clients regarding security issues.
6. Mentor and guide less experienced team members.
7. Collaborate across CyberCX, adding value through communication, partnerships, and cross-team engagement to better serve customers.
We are open to candidates in Canberra or Adelaide.
About you:
* Tertiary qualification in information technology or a related field (preferred).
* Industry-recognized qualifications (e.g., SANS, OSCP, ISC2) and vendor certifications (preferred).
* Minimum 3 years’ experience in operational security roles.
* Deep understanding of security and analytical concepts.
* Experience with incident response and management methodologies.
* Exposure to IT security operations in large or complex organizations.
* Experience with security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, Anti-Virus, WAF (preferred).
* Australian citizenship with the ability to obtain a security clearance.
* Current or ex-serving ADF members are encouraged to apply.
